My bf is not going to be walking good enough by then, but he is coming with me again this year. Please assign him to something which involves him sitting in a chair (we have our own) while we march. Thanks.

Our planned route is in the post, and it's pretty long, so we've basically got two options for folks with disabilities:
1. Be among the volunteers to hang out at our 'rally location' on the steps of City Hall. We're hoping for 10-15 people who will stay behind and protest there while the rest of the group marches.
2. Travel via vehicle to the speaking locations. We expect to have two speaking locations on the march route- one on the Grassy Knoll, the other on the steps of the Municipal Court building- folks unable to walk for the roughly 3 miles the march route is planned for can attend the stops for speaking that we will have. There will also be speakers at City Hall.
Thanks for your involvement, I'm glad to see you guys are doing well and it was wonderful to see ya'll at the meeting!

I have added around 30 pictures of protest posters to give people some ideas for posters to make and carry at this march. They are located on my Marijuana Events site on My Space. Just click on "view my pics". They're visible to everyone, even if you don't have a My Space account.
I am looking forward to attending this event again this year!

There will be a lot of folks who don't know anyone - but - that's the great thing about our NORML family; we are all family :) Just come out, look for me - and we'll get busy :) Would you like to help coordinate? Shoot me a personal EMail to cfo@dfwnorml.org - introduce yourself and we'll collaborate :)
I'll be there with my beloved Crippy. He'll have a cane & a lawnchair. I went last year and I didn't know anyone. I met a few people there, and saw them later at other events. Just come. You'll meet a lot of new people, of all ages. Well, honestly, I didn't see any children there. ;-) But, there was a baby, and some like me-who have gray in their hair. :-)
The police will be with us the whole time; they wouldn't have it any other way. It's a smoke-free event. Very safe, very pleasant, and with lots of time to chat. They have extra signs in case you are unable to make your own.

We got one poster up, in Lake Worth. I listed this event on the KISS FM website, where it will be automatically submitted to The EDGE, Mix 102.9, The Eagle, and Lonestar. Each one will review it and decide if they want to list it on their calendar. I just did it; the website says it takes 28-48 hrs to show up, if it's going to.
My Crippy is in the hospital, so I may be at the next meeting, alone. He should be out of the hospital by then, unless they have to amputate his leg. In case I forget about listing the WWMM on KISS, or to check the other radio stations, perhaps some of you can check on one or two and post here if you see them or not.

I just checked the KISS FM site. The event was not accepted; it isn't on their calendar.

DudeMaster, didn't you or Cheez say at the meeting that the route has been cut to a little over a mile so that more people can walk it?

I've cut out the West End and Municipal Court / Farmer's Market from the route, resulting in the following 1.9 mile march route (26 city blocks, it's very short, should take us about an hour and 15 minutes with a 15-20 minute speaking stop at the Grassy Knoll.
We will be at the Blue Phoenix 2918 S Jupiter Rd Garland, TX 75041 giving away posters! This is a FREE SHOW!! (Must be 18 to go in the store, yes even if your parent is with you! NO ONE under 18 in the store) We will have a table, there will be live music, food vendors, live glass blowing and more! And in case any of you stoners have gotten this far and already forgotten...We will be giving away FREE POSTERS!!

I don't know anyone from the DFW area, we are going to have our biggest march yet here. I will say, if you go, you will go about 10 minutes before you meet someone. Everyone there is great. We are having our largest march to date this year in Dallas to represent the Dallas/ Fort Worth area and the entire metroplex. Another important factor is that this next legislative year is going to be our best chance to date to get a bill passed here in Texas, so no matter where you decide to go, go, and take as many friends and family as possible. Also make poster signs, if you can, and make as many as you can, because many people either don't bring their own or forget to bring it and we want A LOT of signs, and there will be plenty of people to hold them with you. Good luck going to Austin, who knows, there is still time, someone else might want to go with you. Or if you change your mind, we would love to have you at ours. Hey, and also the Reggae fest is coming up down there, and that is when I am planning on going, it is a 3 day event that is really cool.
Hubby and I will be there along with about 5-10 other people from the Navarro County/Hill County area..It's about time to put an end to this pot war and lets start using it for medical and adult recreation (of course there has to be laws to follow--but aren't there always)

A Saturday march protesting the nation's immigration policies is expected to draw "tens of thousands," says its organizers. And the Dallas police department is preparing for up to 100,000, said assistant Police Chief Charles Cato said this week.
The logistical choreography calls for a start time at 1 p.m. for a march that veers away from a variety of Saturday events planned in downtown Dallas.
The march begins at 1 p.m. at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe and ends at Dallas City Hall on Young Street. It will wind away from many church weddings to an Asian Festival with lion dances at the Trammel & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art. But it will likely parallel a separate march scheduled by those who want marijuana decriminalized, and a counter-demonstration is planned by radio hosts from KLIV (540 AM). Both those events end at Dallas City Hall.
I heard Rumor the march was postponed untill next saturday. Can anyone help me figure out whats going on i have a large group of people ready to head out.
Just curious, why not 4/20.
