About Us

Founded in 2005, the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of NORML – the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, is a grassroots, educational non-profit organization dedicated to fighting cannabis prohibition in the Lone Star State. We support the legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes, responsible adult use, and the production of industrial hemp.

As a registered Texas non-profit organization, all of the money we raise goes toward furthering the cause of legalization. Our chapter has over one thousand members and counting, making us one of the largest in the country. We hold free, monthly meetings that are open to the public as well as marches, conferences, classes and live music fundraisers every month.

Isn’t it high time you got involved?

FIVE WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:

1. Become a card carrying member of DFW NORML by joining in person or online at dfwnorml.myshopify.com.

2. Contact your elected representatives and urge them to support compassionate and sensible changes to Texas marijuana policy. Not sure who represents you? Visit fyi.legis.state.tx.us and enter your address to find out who your State Senator and Representatives are. Not sure how to talk about this kind of thing over the phone? Watch our Executive Director Shaun McAlister do it here.

3. Attend and/or volunteer at an upcoming event such as our Wednesday night meet-ups at the House Bar & Grill in Arlington, a monthly meeting or fundraising event. Our Google Event Calendar is Here and our Facebook Event Calendar is There.

4. Follow @dfwnorml on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Make posts using the #dfwnorml and #LegalizeTX hashtags. Like and share our content with your friends!

5. Educate yourself about marijuana and use that information to educate others. A few websites we recommend are NORML.org, Texas Cannabis Report, Leafly.com and TheWeedBlog.com.

DISCLAIMER: Please do not contact us about locating, buying or selling marijuana. Our group exists to change the laws, not to help people break them.
