MARIJUANA (CANNABIS) FACT SHEET - reports from the '40s to the '60
It's a little dry to read, but the important point is these determinations were made prior to the 'Drug War' escalation.
It contains gems like the following:
"There are no apparent reasons for cannabis' status as a Dangerous Drug. It is not addictive, its use does not in Western society cause crime or unacceptable sexuality, and it does not lead to addiction to the hard drugs. The major problem with this drug is that it is illegal. This has three undesirable effects: first, an underground, cannabis-using sub- culture is created and maintained that puts the potential heroin addict one step nearer access to the hard drugs; second, it lessens respect for D.D.A. [Dangerous Drug Act] drugs in the thousands of young people who have tried marihuana or hashish and know from personal experience how harmless the drug is; third, it causes considerable waste of man-power, either through creative and educated people being sent to prison for possession of the drug-a Glasgow doctor was sentenced to six months recently-or through the use of policemen who would be better otherwise employed, to track down the drug and its users." Good post Lilly. Type into your searchline "Cannabiods and Cancer". It's appalling that our own government allows over 500,000 of its own people to die every year, after year, after year. In the time since Tricky Dick started his "War on Drugs" over 15,000,000 have died because our government has placed such rediculous restrictions on cannabis research that it's more or less impossible. Why do they continue to block this research? What is thier true motive? If they truely believe that it is "THE EVIL WEED" They have no business being in government. I personaly don't care for people that stupid running my country. If it's all just for the big pharms profits, then how little they must think of us. Either way when the elections come in Nov. I will not vote for any democrat, or republican on the ballot. I will vote Independent, Libritarian, Green Party, Cannabis Party, I don't care. If you work for someone for years without getting fired, you must be doing what the boss wants you to do. It's time to fire the powers that be, and give someone else a chance.

does Ironman seem a little aggrevated...lol...Ironman i am with ya 100%...If I can sit here for a little over an hour and find the endless amount of lies and information compiled over the last 70 + years here on the web...why in the hell does it seem so difficult for these "brilliant"(used loosely) elected officials to see the light...absolutely absurd and idiotic...
