Why do you think the Volcano is the best? I hear that a lot, but I wonder what makes it different than your Voodoo.

I can only speak from what I have read. Seems the Vol is somewhat more precise in temp.

To continue on vaporizing, and if I'm going to talk about vaporizing, then, of course, I have to vaporize something first, which I did. Having achieved the level of intoxication I am happy with, the first thing I will tell you is, it does not make you cough, it does not make your throat burn, and it does not make your eyes water, (smoke gets in your eyes). When you read the part about smoke getting in your eyes, sing it, it enhances the humourus aspect of the piece, I hope. The "Voodo" comes with a little battery powered grinder, I just cleaned an ounce and dumped it in the blender, much faster. It is important that you do this. The heated air must pass through the weed, big pieces of leaf will obstruct the air flow, this is to be avoided. Another thing to be avoided is to stuff the little basket as full as you can get it, also, it is not a good idea to use a wooden dowl, and a sledge hammer to pack it down. Fill the thing about half way, loosely. This alows the air to blow the weed around, making it dance around like a bunch of little pieces of weed, well you get the idea. AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, DAMN. Sorry, just turned media player on, it was tooo loud. OH, MY GOD. Does that mean I'm too old? :wink: Oh, by the way, Steppenwolf, born to be wild. OK, but that just means I'm old, not too old. Time to get deadly serious, I am dieing, well we all are, it's just that I know what's going to kill me, just don't know exactly when. Emphysema will do the dirty deed, I'm sure. 50yrs of smoking cigerettes, 40yrs of smoking weed. I give cigs more credit than weed, but I have no doubt that "SMOKING" weed didn't help. So, before you climb into this sinking ship with me, quit smoking everything. Save your pennies, buy a vaporizer. Try EVERYTHING you can, get off of cigerettes, any way you can. I have been trying to quit cigs for over 20yrs, I have finally succeeded, I used Chantix, by Pfizer. I am afraid that I may have quit too late though, gone beyond the "tipping point", sealed my proverbial fate so to speak. When this ship finally goes down, I don't want any company.

I just got the Vapir Oxygen from Vapir themselves, purchased through EBay. It's a digitally controlled thermostat with no fans, meaning that you draw the air into it as you pull on it. If you hit it like a hookah, just inhaling slowly, it works wonderfully.

Cons:
AC Adapter cord is awfully short for a circle

Summary:
Doesn't keep me from wanting a volcano, but is the best out there for the price. Highly recommended.

I have to admit, I've never heard of a vaporizer until this board. Just what does it do that's different from a water pipe?

Vaporizers use electrical heating elements to raise the temperature of the cannabis to the point that the THC and beneficial substances evaporate in a 'vapor' but the plant matter, including the harsh chlorophyll, does not.

They are a much less physically destructive method of consuming cannabis and are truly preferable in impact to traditional smoking devices, in which the cannabis is combusted to produce smoke, which irritates the lungs more.

Never underestimate the ingenuity of man. Not when it comes to consuming intoxicants, at least. :D

I tend to believe the stuff about weed having 4 times the carcinogenic chemicals than tobacco. All of these chemicals have a temp at which it is released into the air. Delta 9 THC is released at 185C, far too cool to release any of the carcinogic chemicals. Consuming cannabis in this manner removes the possibility of causing harm to the lungs. This is why a vaporizer is better than smoking.
I have been trying, like i'm sure all of you have, to find a good reason why they will put a responsible adult in jail for consuming or possesing cannabis. I have failed miserably. I have read what the DEA, and NIDA said about cannabis. I know, from personal experience, that they are lying. Should we sue somebody? Could we sue somebody? There has to be a smart lawyer out there somewhere.

Sue for what? Stupidity? Hypocrisy?

It does make me wonder, though, what legal challenges, if any, have been attempted.

And are we the only two posting on here. Sigh...
