Our time is short! We need everyone to contact their reps who haven't already. We need to get these Bills to the Floor for a vote.
The schedule for the rest of the session is below:
Go here to see a FLOWCHART OF THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS IN TEXAS.
Monday, June 1, 2009 (140th day)
Last day of 81st Regular Session; corrections only in house and senate
[Sec. 24(b), Art. III, Texas Constitution]
Sunday, June 21, 2009 (20th day following final adjournment)
Last day governor can sign or veto bills passed during the regular legislative session
[Sec. 14, Art. IV, Texas Constitution]
Monday, August 31, 2009 (91st day following final adjournment)
Date that bills without specific effective dates (that could not be effective immediately) become law
[Sec. 39, Art. III, Texas Constitution]
As you can see we don't have much time left and there are many more steps for the Bills to go through before they can reach the Governors desk. Please contact your rep and get support for these Bills.
It's too bad these bills never made it out of committee. I think our next chance is in 2011 -- isn't it?

Every 2 years for 140 days. It reminds me of Jeepers Creepers, haha.
Right, but the last thing we must do is sit around. We must use these two years for 'tilling the garden and planting the seeds'. The letter-writing must go on. But more important is converting the brain-washed masses. I thank you all for attending events with us, but as we all know, that's not enough. Our numbers are many, but those of us who are politically active are the minority. We must reach groups such as Churches, senior citizen groups, medical organizations and their members, and everyone else outside our regular operating circle of acquaintances.
Now is not the time to rest.
