A Personal Invitation

Hi all, I would like to send a personal invitation to everyone and anyone visiting this site to attend the Arlington Unitarian Universalist Church this July 27, ’08.

On July 27, 2008, DFWNORML will be giving an informal discussion speech at the Arlington Unitarian Universalist Church at 2001 California Lane, Arlington, Texas, 76015. The phone there is 817-460-6481 and you can visit the website at http://arlington-tx-uu.org

Taken from the churches own website here is an excerpt of their beliefs, and for most Unitarian Universalists congregations for that matter.

“Who are we? We are people of faith who are not afraid of

questions. We prize diversity. We enjoy discussion and sharing insights.

We welcome your curiosity and invite you to visit us.

We support freedom of thought and the fundamentally

American ideal of separation of church and state. Unitarian

Universalists have been active in the defense of civil liberties,

civil rights and sexual equality. We are involved in the continuing

struggle for freedom, peace and dignity for all people regardless of

their race, religion, national origin or socio-economic status.

Each UU congregation is different, depending upon the interests

of the local members. More information on the history of the

Unitarian Universalist religion and the scope of interests of

our membership can be found on the national Unitarian Universalist

Association web site at www.uua.org.

You may find that we are you.”

This is a Church I attend, although I’m a legally ordained Chaplain I’m not a chaplain through the Unitarian church. This is a church I attend to help reenergize my own spirituality. Once I realized the church’s stance on the Marijuana issue, it just made it that much more accommodating for me. I’ve given speeches at this church and I care for the building and grounds in small amounts.

My open admission of my marijuana use hasn’t affected how I’m viewed or treated by the members of the congregation. Please visit http://www.uua.org/socialjustice/socialjustice/statements/14493.shtml

Actually they love me and I don’t know why.

This July 27 will be the last Sunday of the month and we will be having a covered dish lunch and anyone in attendance is welcomed to participate and they usually have some really good home made cooking. You’re welcomed to bring a dish but it’s not required to participate in the meal. Bring your family. The attire is casual but you can come dressed in your Sunday cloths if you chose.

I hope to see you there. Sincerely, Chaplain Daniel,
