DFW NORML is a nonprofit organization, which means we serve a purpose of public benefit rather than pursue profits for our own gain. Any donations we receive help in the fight toward the reform of marijuana laws that result in the arrests of nearly a million Americans every year. Why? There was no support for these bills. Senator Dianne Delisi refused to push the medical marijuana bill through her committee to receive a full vote on the senate floor, and let the bill die. Her reason? She didn't want to put a bill on the floor that wasn't going to pass. And she assumed it wouldn't pass because not enough people stood up and said medical marijuana patients should not be treated as criminals in Texas.
