The most common volunteer task we have that almost anyone can do is Event Table.
When you table an event, you bring materials and information to an appropriate event produced by someone else, and represent DFWNORML to the public. Its fun and easy, and its a great way to meet a lot of people who are interested in NORML! We provide the materials, which includes educational information about marijuana history and legislation, membership signup information, and DFWNORML merchandise, and you provide the event and your smiling self. :) We absolutely recommend that you co-ordinate with the event planners and make sure you are approved to be there - the last thing we want is bad impressions and hurt feelings! The event can be anything - your favorite band playing somewhere, a neighborhood meeting, a church function, a community event - anywhere you are able to get approval and can educate people about marijuana laws.

DFWNORML also sponsors events in co-operation with Event Producers. These are usually fundraisers and get togethers, and require some advance planning and co-ordination with the Officers. We can provide several resources to Event Producers, provided they co-ordinate with us, including; website and newsletter promotion, logo'ed flyers, posters and banners, volunteers, and information about how best to present our organization to the public. If you have an event you would like to produce with sponsorship from DFWNORML, please contact us early in your event planning for best results, and get on our calendar as soon as possible.

There are also a number of staff Volunteer Positions available in our organization. If you have 5 to 10 hours a month to commit to us, and can attend meetings regularly, we would love to have you help out. These are pretty informal, and rely a lot on your inter-personal skills. If you have any manager or a project co-ordinator skills, you could breeze through these pretty easily, but they should be something that almost anyone with a little time to spare can manage. Please be upfront about it though; we need comitted people to help us out. As light as the duty is, we need people who will follow through consistently.
