A Matrix-Inspired Message from Executive Director Shaun McAlister

I know why you’re here, friend. I know what you’ve been doing, why you hardly sleep, why you feel so alone, and why night after night, you allow yourself to be programmed into a coma of consumerism, corporate interests, advertising and mindless distractions that will never make you happy.

You’re searching for something. I know because I was once searching for the same thing. I thought that filling my life with socially acceptable behaviors, doing what I was told and leading a good life was enough. And yet it wasn’t enough. I yearned for something more. My search began.

When it found me, I learned that I wasn’t really searching for “it.” I was searching for an answer. It’s the question that drives us. It’s the question that brought me here. You know the question, just as I did:

What’s wrong with me?

The answer is all around us, and yet we’re too distracted to even acknowledge this simple question.

Not enough time. Not enough money. Not enough sex, drugs, alcohol or Jesus. Nothing is ever enough. Why is that? We fill our lives with crap, and wonder why it’s not enough to allow us to feel truly satisfied with our lives.

I want you to start thinking for yourself. Wake up, and help others to wake up. Know that you are free, and acknowledge the need to defend those freedoms.

Resist a system that kicks us to the curb when we no longer fit into that system. Resist the lies propagated by governments that put profits over people. Resist intolerance. Hatred. Fear. Replace these things with kindness, gentleness, love and the truth.

Only then, will we be able to see our true potential, our purpose and the path we must follow to get there.
