November Meeting and Cash Hyde Vigil Video and Recap
Posted on: November 26, 2012
Our November meeting this past Saturday at Eddie Deen CrossRoads Smokehouse brought out 65 Texans and generated over $100 in donations. We kept it short and sweet this month while managing to cover a range of topics. Watch the highlights from our meeting in the video below:
This month’s speakers included:
– Shaun McAlister, Executive Director of DFW NORML.
– Pete Marrero, National Promotions Coordinator.
– Loretta Labrada, Outreach Coordinator.
– Tristan Tucker, Executive Director of UNT NORML.
– Kelsey Beene, Secretary.
– Steve Williams, Media Coordinator.
This month’s Cannabis All Star is Ash, our badass photographer who, back in October, planned a pumpkin carving party for NORML parents to bring their kids to at a park in Fort Worth. Ash has dedicated her time and creativity to ending cannabis prohibition and she’s not even a smoker! She hustles hard for DFW NORML and deserves to be recognized. Head on over to her Facebook page, appropriately entitled: Smoke Room and show her some love.
Our last topic was Cash Hyde. Three members of the board each took a few minutes to talk about what Cashy’s life meant to them on a personal level as well as the worldwide movement to end marijuana prohibition. Then we concluded the meeting by bringing everyone outside for a glow stick vigil for Cashy, right on the sidewalk of Randol Mill Road, blocks away from the Dallas Cowboys Stadium after the Texas Tech and Baylor Big 12 football game let out. We were seen by countless numbers of Texans who honked and shouted praise to us.
