Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Talk Legalization with DFW NORML

Posted on: August 8, 2013

On March 9th, 2013, DFW NORML was blessed with a rare opportunity – the chance to video interview all 5 members of Bone Thugs -N- Harmony, preceding their 20th Anniversary show at House of Blues. Fortunate as ever, Pete Marrero and the other members present sat down with them in their hotel lobby. The 9 minute 15 second interview focuses on the group’s highly respected opinions concerning the marijuana legalization movement. When asked how marijuana has influenced their music in general, the guys reported using cannabis to alleviate arthritis, headaches, and insomnia resulting from their busy schedules. They also encourage others to learn more about the medicinal aspect of the movement, as well as how legalization would benefit the economy through taxes.

Although, the legendary artists have never had any serious run-ins with police regarding marijuana possession, they were also fortunate enough to have been given a heads up about the infamous Sierra Blanca checkpoint. Some of the Bone Thugs certified strains mentioned in the interview include Grandaddy Kush, Girl Scout Cookie (also recommended by Waka Flocka Flame,) and a curious new strain out of Seattle, known only as “Cappy Gold.” The group also encourages their fans and other hip-hop artists to use the power of celebrity to raise awareness for the cause. A perfect summary of the interview can be described in a single quote by Flesh -N- Bone, “The Feds are ungrateful.”
